This past weekend marked Nathan's first trip to Saskatchewan, or as I like to call it, the Homeland. This was to be his second road trip so we were hoping that he would manage the time in the car okay. We left just before his morning nap and made it all the way to Medicine Hat before stopping for lunch at 5 Guys Burgers & Fries (yum).
This was Nathan's first time on a restaurant high chair and he loved it!

We stopped again in Swift Current for a quick pit stop. As you can see, Nathan seems to be enjoying the car:

Once in Moose Jaw it was a whirlwind few days of meeting lots of new people.
Here he is with his Great Aunt, Debbie (Nathan has about 20 great aunts, but has only met 3 of them so far):

I think that he would tell you that the best part of the weekend was going swimming! Nathan loved the pool.

I was so worried that he would get a sunburn! Poor kid had so many layers on.

Nathan also met his 2nd cousin Lilja who is only 3 weeks older than he is. They were both too busy to pose for a photo.

And to think that all of this happened before Saturday!
Saturday was a busy day too. Nathan and I drove to Ft Qu'Appelle to visit my long time friend Angela. Ange has 3 kids of her own that I have never met. Up until last year they lived in Texas. Here's a photo of us that Ange's husband Brian took:

Typically our summer trip to Moose Jaw involves going to a Rider game. I don't think that Nathan is quite old enough to appreciate the atmosphere at Taylor Field just yet. I stayed back while Jason and his parents went to the game.
All in all it was a good visit. Nathan did very well meeting all of the new people. I imagine that next year he will be way more excited about going in the pool.
